Building Inclusive Entrepreneurship in the Yukon: Insights from REKH’s 2SLGBTQI+ Fieldwork Report

In December 2024, the 2SLGBTQI+ Entrepreneurship Knowledge Hub (REKH) embarked on a meaningful journey to the Yukon, engaging with local communities, researchers, and organizations to better understand the unique dynamics of entrepreneurship in the region. Partnering with Queer Yukon and Yukon University, the REKH team explored themes of community interdependence, Indigenous governance, and the intersectionality of queer and Indigenous identities.

This fieldwork report sheds light on the challenges and opportunities faced by 2SLGBTQI+ entrepreneurs in the Yukon, where remoteness fosters both resilience and deep community bonds. It also highlights the importance of data sovereignty, collaborative knowledge-sharing, and economic sustainability in a region shaped by unique social and geographic conditions.

Join us as we dive into the key findings from REKH’s Yukon Fieldwork Report and explore how local partnerships and inclusive economic development can pave the way for a stronger, more connected entrepreneurial ecosystem.
